Ingredients

 Eggs5 , separated
 Whole eggs2
 Milk1 Pint
 7 T. sugar for egg whites
 Vanilla2 Tablespoon
 7 T. sugar for custard
 Salt1/8 Tablespoon

Directions

Place 5 egg yolks and 2 whole eggs with 7 T.sugar in mixer; beat at high speed until well mixed.
Add milk, salt and vanilla; blend well.
Pour mixture into round pyrex dish; place in pan of hot water, and bake at 300° to 325° until top is lightly browned and custard does not cling to knife when blade is inserted.
OR
Beat 5 egg whites until stiff, add 7 T.sugar.
Hand beater allows more air to be folded in.
Completely cover top of custard and return to oven until lightly browned at 325°.
