Mother's Fish Mooli Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 1/2 kg pomfret cut half inch thick through the bone | ||
| 4-6 green chillies, seeded and chopped | ||
| Curry leaves strip | 3 | |
| Ginger | 2 Inch, peeled | |
| 2 cups coconut milk extracted from 1/2 coconut | ||
| Juice of 2-3 limes | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Sesame seed oil | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Cumin seeds | 1 Teaspoon (Dry roast individually and grind together to a fine paste:) | |
| Coriander seeds | 1 Tablespoon (Dry roast individually and grind together to a fine paste:) | |
| Poppy seeds | 1 Tablespoon (Dry roast individually and grind together to a fine paste:) | |
| Coconut | 1/2 , grated (Dry roast individually and grind together to a fine paste:) | |
| Peanuts | 2 Tablespoon (Dry roast individually and grind together to a fine paste:) | |
| Cashew nuts | 3 Tablespoon (Dry roast individually and grind together to a fine paste:) | |
| Gram | 4 Tablespoon (Dry roast individually and grind together to a fine paste:) | |
| Rice | 1 Tablespoon (Dry roast individually and grind together to a fine paste:) | |
| Onions | 2 (Grind together:) | |
| Coriander leaves | 2 Tablespoon (Grind together:) | |
| 6-7 dry Goa red chillies | ||
| Garlic | 7 Clove (5gm) (Grind together:) | |
Directions
Rub lime juice and salt on fish and leave to marinate for half an hour.
Mix both ground pastes.
Heat oil in a pan and fry ground spices.
Add coconut milk, ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and salt.
Mix well.
The texture should be that of milk.
Add water if necessary.
Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Add fish and simmer till done.
Add lime juice to taste.
Serve with white rice and papads.
