Morrison's Sweet Tea Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 large Irish potatoes, boiled in 1 pt. water | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 tablespoon butter or lard | ||
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs), scalded | |
| 1 yeast cake, dissolved in little water | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
| Flour | ||
Directions
Boil peeled potatoes in 1 pint water; mash all through colander.
Add salt, sugar, shortening, and scalded milk.
Let cool.
Add 1 yeast cake, dissolved.
Mix and add enough flour to make a batter.
Let rise until light.
Add the well-beaten egg and enough extra flour to make smooth soft dough.
Let rise 2 1/2 hours, or until light.
Form into little tea rolls (any desired form).
Bake about 30 minutes, in about 425-450-degree oven.
