Moravian Ginger Cookies Recipe
This recipe of Moravian Ginger Cookies was picked up by me from a gourmet magazine, I twisted it a little bit to meet my taste here I am, sharing my version with you. Ingredients
1/3 cup molasses
1/4 cup shortening
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon each cinnamon, ginger and cloves
Dash each nutmeg and allspice
Easy Creamy Icing
Directions
Mix thoroughly molasses, shortening and sugar.
Blend in remaining ingredients except icing.
Cover; chill at least 4 hours.
Heat oven to 375°.
Roll dough 1/8 inch thick or, if desired, paper-thin on lightly floured cloth-covered board.
Cut into desired shapes.
Place 1/2 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 8 minutes or until set.
Immediately remove from baking sheet; cool.
Frost with Easy Creamy Icing.
