Ingredients
Condensed milk - 1 tin
Milk - 3 cups
Moong dal - 1 cup (dhuli)
Ghee - 1 cup
Elaichi powder - 1/2 tsp
Almonds - 3 tbsp (optional)
Raisins - 3 tbsp
Silver leaf - 1
Nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
Directions
GETTING READY
1 Clean the dal well.
2 In a bowl, soak dal for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
3 Drain well.
4 In a grinder jar, add the dal and grind to a fine paste.
MAKING
5 In a heavy bottomed frying pan, heat the ghee.
6 Add in the dal paste and cook, stirring on low heat until it turns golden brown and the ghee starts showing on the surface.
7 Gradually add in the milk, stirring constantly.
8 Simmer, on low heat until most of the milk dries up.
9 Pour in the condensed milk and stir till it reaches the consistency of halwa.
10 Transfer to a flat dish.
11 Add in the almonds, elaichi powder, raisins and nutmeg.
SERVING
12 Top with silver leaf and serve hot.
