Ingredients

 Green gram225 Gram (For 4)
 Spinach1 Kilogram (For 4)
 Turmeric a pinch
 Asafoetida a pinch
 Chilli powder5 Gram (For 4)
 Oil (for tempering) 10 ml. (about 1 tbsp.)
 Salt To Taste (For 4)

Directions

1. Wash and soak gram in double the quantity of water for one hour.
2. Cook till soft.
3. Pick and wash spinach. Add to gram and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Add salt, turmeric and chilli powder. Remove from fire.
4. Heat oil. Fry asafoetida and pour over dal. Mix well.
