Mom'S Rich Scones Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shortening | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| White sugar | 4 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cream of tartar | 1 Teaspoon (Leveled) | |
| Milk | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) |
Directions
Mix the shortening into the flour and remaining dry ingredients.
Add milk; mix to a soft dough.
Turn out onto a board; knead as lightly as possible (1/2 dozen times).
Roll; cut into round or triangular shapes.
Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350°F until browned slightly, approximately 15 minutes.
Raisins or dates can be mixed into the dry ingredients, if desired.
