Molasses Drop Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
3 cups sifted Swans Down Cake Flour
1 1/aspoons baking soda
1/2aspoon salt
1 teaspoon ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1/2 cup molasses
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Sift flour, soda, salt, and spices together.
Cream shortening; add sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy.
Add egg and beat well; then stir in molasses.
Add flour alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla.
Chill until firm enough to hold shape 1 to 2 hours.
Drop from teaspoon on lightly greased baking sheets, placing about 2 inches apart.
Bake in hot oven (400°F.) 8 to 10 minutes, or until done.
Slide off baking sheet with a spatula.
