Molasses Butter Brittle Recipe
Molasses Butter Brittle has unique taste. The Vanilla with molasses gives the Molasses Butter Brittle a prefect taste.
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup light molasses
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Combine the sugar, butter, molasses, and water in a heavy 2-quart saucepan.
Mix well and set over low heat; stir until sugar is dissolved.
Increase heat and bring mixture to boiling.
Wash crystals from sides of pan.
Set candy thermometer in place.
Cook, stirring constantly, to 300°F (hard-crack stage).
Remove from heat and remove thermometer.
Stir in vanilla extract.
Pour syrup into a buttered 8-inch square pan; do not scrape saucepan.
Before candy cools, mark quickly into squares with a sharp knife; set aside to cool.
When hard, break candy into pieces.
Store in tightly covered container in a cool dry place.
