Molasses Spice Loaf Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1 1/2 tsp mixed pastry spice | ||
| Brown sugar | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Boiling water | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Raisins | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salad oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| 1/3 cup fancy molasses | ||
Directions
Sift the first five ingredients into a bowl and stir in the sugar.
Pour boiling water over the raisins and let cool.
Stir in oil, egg and molasses.
Pour into the dry mixture and blend thoroughly without beating.
Scrape into a greased 9 X 5-inch loaf pan and bake at 350F for 40 to 50 minutes.
Cool and remove from the pan.
