Molasses Spice Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground ginger | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
| Molasses | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Orange juice | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Currants | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
1. Sift flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, and cinnamon onto wax paper.
2. Beat butter or margarine in a large bowl; gradually add sugar and continue beating until mixture is well blended. Beat in egg; add molasses and orange juice, beating until well blended. Stir in dry ingredients, half at a time, blending well after each addition; fold in currants.
3. Drop by level tablespoonfuls, 3 inches apart, onto greased cooky sheets.
4. Bake at (350°) 10 minutes, or until firm. Remove from cooky sheets; cool on wire racks.
