Molasses Crinkles Recipe
Ingredients
| 3/4 cup soft butter or shortening | ||
| Packed brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Molasses | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 2 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Soda | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cloves | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ginger | 1 Teaspoon | |
| White sugar for dipping | ||
Directions
Cream shortening and sugar, add egg, beat well, add molasses, stir in mixed dry ingredients.
Chill dough.
Roll dough into balls about the size of a walnut.
Dip tops into sugar.
Place sugar side up, 3 inches apart on greased baking sheet.
Sprinkle each cookie with 2 or 3 drops of water for a cracked surface.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes until set but not hard.
