Ingredients
| Popped popcorn | 5 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Peanuts | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Molasses | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Packed brown sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Vinegar | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon |
Directions
In 3-quart casserole, combine popcorn and peanuts.
Mix well.
Set aside.
In 2-quart measure or casserole, combine molasses, brown sugar, butter, vinegar and salt.
Mix well.
Microwave at High for 1 1/2 to 3 minutes, or until sugar is dissolved and mixture is boiling, stirring after every minute.
Insert microwave candy thermometer.
Microwave at High for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes, or until thermometer registers 280°F (soft crack stage).
Syrup separates into hard but not brittle threads when dropped into cold water.
Pour hot mixture quickly over popcorn and peanuts, stirring to coat.
Microwave at High for 1 1/2 minutes, stirring once.
Spread on wax paper-lined baking sheet.
Cool.
Break into small pieces.
