 Molasses1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Shortening1/2 Cup (16 tbs), melted
 Boiling water1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Flour3 Cup (16 tbs)
 3 teaspoons Royal Baking Powder
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Soda1/2 Teaspoon
 Cinnamon2 Teaspoon
 Nutmeg1 Teaspoon
 Cloves1 Teaspoon
 1 cup stale bread crumbs

Directions

GETTING READY
1) In a bowl, add molasses, sugar, shortening and boiling water. Combine well.
2) Separately, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, soda and spices.
3) Add this dry mixture to the liquid mixture.
4) Add bread crumbs and mix properly.

MAKING
5) Use greased baking sheet to drop the batter by spoonfuls.
6) Bake in moderate oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

SERVING
7) Serve by garnishing with your choice of icing.
