Mohanthal Recipe
Mohanthaal is a dessert that tastes divine ! I This Gujrati gram flour Fudge is as compelling as the western fudges ! Just give this a try for a change ! Your suggestions for this Mohanthaal are welcome !
Ingredients
Ghee 1 cup
Bengal gram flour coarsely ground 2 cups
Khoya grated 1 cup
Cardamom powder 1 tsp
For the sugar syrup
Sugar 1 1/2 cups
Water 1 cup
Milk 2 tbsp
Pistachios and almonds chopped 4 tbsp
Directions
Take the gram flour in a bowl.
Add half of the heated ghee to the gram flour.
These now need to be mixed till the gram flour begins to look like breadcrumbs.
Add the gram flour and ghee mix in the remaining ghee in a kadai Cook till the mixture is golden brown, and remember to stir continuously.
Add the mawa(grated) and cardamom powder.
Heat it for about 5-7 minutes.
Remove from heat and leave to cool in normal temperature till its warm.
Add sugar, water and milk to make the sugar syrup.
Add the hot sugar syrup into the gram flour mixture and stir well.
Then pour this mixture into an oiled plate.
Sprinkle chopped almonds and pistachios.
Let it settle down for 4-5 hours.
Make square slices and serve at room temperature.
