Mixture chutney Recipe

This chutney can be enjoyed with Idly or dosai. Frankly I dont know why my mother in law calls it "mixture" chutney, so dont ask, but enjoy the new taste of this chutney.

Ingredients

 
2 tsp oil
 
2 pinches asafoetida powder ( perungaayam podi )
 
2 tbsp of finely chopped ginger and garlic
 
3/4 finely chopped big onion
 
3 count dry red chillies
 
2 count chopped tomato
 
2 tbsp dhalia split ( pottu kadalai )
 
3 tbsp shreaded coconut
 
salt as per taste

Directions

* In a pan pour oil and fry asafoetida powder, chopped ginger and garlic, onion and fry till light brown.

* Now add red chillies, tomato fry for 2 mins, put dhalia split and coconut and salt.

* Fry nicely for 5 mins.

* Cool it and grind it in mixie to a smooth paste.

* Later season it with mustard seeds and urad dal and a few curry leaves with a tsp of oil.
