Mixed Fruit Jam Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 each (banana, sapota, papaya and guava) or any combination you prefer to make 2 cups of pulp | ||
| Fruit sugar | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| A pinch of citric acid | ||
| Colour and essence of your choice | ||
Directions
1. Select ripe (but firm) pulpy fruits. Wash thoroughly, wipe clean, and extract the pulp. Soft pulp fruits can be chopped or grated. Hard pulp fruits should be cut into small pieces and boiled with a minimum of water until soft.
2. Put all the ingredients (except the colour and essence) in a thick-bottomed pan and cook the mixture on medium heat, stirring all the while until it reaches jam consistency. Remove from fire when done.
3. Add the colour and essence if desired, and mix well.
4. Fill the jam immediately into hot, sterilised bottles to the brim. Leave the bottles aside until the jam is cooled completely, then seal with wax as given. Close lid and store.
