 Egg whites2
 Cream of tartar1⁄4 Teaspoon
 Vanilla1⁄4 Teaspoon
 Salt1 Dash
 Sugar1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
 Sponge cake2
 Chocolate coated peppermint ice cream patties2 , Coated
 Crushed peppermint stick candy1 Tablespoon


Beat egg whites with cream of tartar, vanilla, and salt to soft peaks.
Gradually add sugar, beating to stiff peaks.
Place cake cups on cutting board; top each with ice cream patty.
Cover with meringue, spreading thicker over ice cream and thinner around cake; seal edges at bottom.
Sprinkle meringue with candy.
Bake at 500° for 2 to 3 minutes or till browned.
Serve at once.
