Directions

Thaw pastry according to package directions.
Remove one sheet; return remaining pastry to the freezer.
Prepare mincemeat according to package directions, using 1 1/2 cups water.
Stir in raisins and cherries.
On a floured surface, roll pastry into a 14x12 inch rectangle.
Transfer to a greased baking sheet.
Spoon fruit mixture, lengthwise, down center of rectangle.
Make 4 inch cuts at 1 inch intervals on both sides of filling.
Fold strips over filling at an angle, overlapping and pinching at center.
Seal ends to hold in filling.
Brush with beaten egg.
Bake in a 425° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or till golden brown.
Drizzle icing over warm pastry.
Garnish platter with grapes and grape leaves, if desired.
