Ingredients

 Onion1 , chopped
 Fat2 Tablespoon
 Beef1 Pound, minced
 Beef Stock1 1/2 Cup(16 tbs)
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Pepper
 Herbs1/2 Teaspoon, dried
 Parsley2 Tablespoon, chopped
 Nutmeg Pinch
 Worcestershire sauce1 Tablespoon
 Flour3 Tablespoon
 1 quantity Short Crust Pastry

Directions

Saute onion in fat in a heavy saucepan until soft.
Increase heat and add minced beef.
Cook until the meat begins to brown.
Add stock and stir thoroughly.
Add seasoning, herbs, nutmeg and sauce.
Cover saucepan and simmer gently for 30 minutes.
Thicken beef mixture with the flour blended to a smooth paste with a little cold water and cool.
Take 2/3 pastry and roll out to fit a round greased 8-inch pie plate.
Place the cooled meat into the pie plate, moisten pastry edge, roll out remainder of pastry and place on top of pie.
Press pastry edges firmly to seal, trim with a knife and decorate edge by fluting with fingertips.
Decorate top of pie.
Glaze pastry with beaten egg and bake in a hot oven for 15 minutes.
Reduce heat to moderate and bake a further 25-30 minutes.
