Ingredients

 Flour2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted
 Sugar3/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Baking soda1/2 Teaspoon
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon
 Mincemeat1 Cup (16 tbs), prepared
 Vegetable shortening1/2 Cup (16 tbs), melted
 Molasses1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 1 egg, slightly beaten
 Walnuts1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped

Directions

In large mixer bowl, sift together flour, sugar, soda, and salt.
In medium bowl, combine mincemeat, 1/2 cup water, the cooled vegetable shortening, molasses, and egg.
Add to dry ingredients; mix well.
Stir in nuts.
Turn into greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350° for 1 1/4 hours.
Cool.
Wrap and refrigerate overnight before serving.
