Millet Continental Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
1 cup millet
1 10 1/2 ounce can cream of mushroom soup
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
Directions
Brown meat in a large skillet.
Drain fat, reserving 2 tablespoons.
Transfer meat to a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
Saute onion and celery in remaining fat.
Add to the meat.
Pour millet over meat mixture.
Combine soup, water, sunflower seeds, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning in a separate bowl.
Spread evenly over millet, and mix lightly.
Bake in a 350° F.oven for 1 hour or until millet is tender.
NOTE: Other grains may be substituted for the millet.
Reduce water when using other grains.
