Ingredients
6-ounce package (1 cup) Nestle's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
3 cups rice crispy cereal
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups Pillsbury's Best Flour (sifted Regular or Instant Blending)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup Land O' Lakes Butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk
48 Diamond Walnut Halves
Directions
Melt chocolate morsels in top of double boiler over hot water.
Stir in 1 cup cereal.
Chill.
Crush remaining cereal very fine.
Mix with 1/4 CUP sugar.
Combine flour with salt and soda.
Cream butter in mixing bowl.
Gradually add 1 cup sugar; cream until light and fluffy.
Blend in egg and vanilla extract.
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Blend well after each addition.
Fold in chocolate coated cereal.
Dough will be marbled.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into crushed cereal; roll to coat.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet; top each with walnut half.
Bake at 375° for 1.0 to 12 minutes.
