Microwave Whole Wheat Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| Lukewarm water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Active dry yeast | 1 | |
| All-purpose flour - 2 cups | ||
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shortening | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Molasses | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Granulated Sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 2 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Whole wheat flour | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Take water in 2 cup glass measure and microwave (high) for about 30-45 seconds or until lukewarm. Add yeast for softening.
2) Stir in the mixture into flour, forming thick and smooth batter. Cover and keep overnight in a warm place.
MAKING
3) Scald (high) milk in a 4 cup glass measure with molasses, shortening, salt and sugar for about 2-3 minutes. Cool the mixture until lukewarm.
4) Stir in yeast sponge and combine with the prepared milk mixture.
5) Add whole wheat flour, 1 cup at a time, forming firm and stiff dough.
6) Turn the dough onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth. Divide dough into 2 portions of equal size.
7) Cover with a towel and let stand for 10 minutes.
8) Shape the dough portions into loaves and place in 9x5x3-inch pans.
9) Cover and rise for 1 1/2 or until loaves turn double in bulk.
10) Place a 4 cup glass measure of boiling water in the microwave along with bread until water cools. Reheat water and repeat the process until dough turns double in size.
11) Microwave (high) each loaf for about 3-4 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the bottom comes out clean, rotating 1/4 turn once or twice as per requirement.
12) Brush the bread with melted butter, if desired.
13) Place bread in a broiler vessel and broil for about 1-2 minutes or until brown. Cool for about 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on the rack.

14) Slice the bread and serve!
