Microwave Beans Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound dried beans rinsed and picked over
4 cups water
OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS
1 ham hock
1 cup coarsely chopped celery
1 small onion, sliced
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
1. Place the beans and the water in a 3-quart microwave-proof casserole.
2. Cover and cook over high heat for 30 minutes or until boiling. Reduce heat to medium and cook for about 1 hour, or until tender, stirring every 30 minutes.
