Mexican Steak Recipe
Ingredients
| Boneless round steak - 1 1/4 pounds | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Chopped green chilies - 1 (4-ounce) can , drained | ||
| Taco sauce - 1 (8-ounce) jar | ||
| Monterey jack cheese | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1 Trim the excess fat from the steak.
2 Preheat the oven to 350°F.
3 Lightly grease a 2-quart shallow casserole.
MAKING
4 Cut the steak into 4 pieces.
5 Pound each piece to 1/4-inch thickness.
6 In a skillet, melt butter and brown the steak.
7 Place the steak in the prepared casserole.
8 Top with chiles and taco sauce.
9 Cover and bake at for 40 minutes.
10 Sprinkle cheese on the steak.
11 Bake, uncovered, for another 5 minutes.
SERVING
12 Serve at once.
