Mexican Pizza Pitas Recipe
Ingredients
| Ground beef | 3/4 pound | |
| Onion | 1 Small, chopped | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Chili powder | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salsa | 8 Bottle (1l) | |
| Pita Bread Rounds- 4 large or 8 small | ||
| Green Chilies- 1 4-ounce can chopped, drained | ||
| Sliced Ripe Olives- 1 2 1/4-ounce can, drained | ||
| Monterey jack cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs), shredded | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2) In a non-stick pan, sauté ground beef and onion until meat is brown.
3) Remove form the heat and pour of liquid if any.
MAKING
4) Add in sugar, chili powder, and garlic salt.
5) Smear the salsa on each pita.
6) Spoon the meat mixture, green chillies, olives, and cheese over salsa.
7) Arrange the pita breads over a baking sheet or directly on oven rack.
8) Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or till pita bread is hot and cheese is melted.
SERVING
9) Serve hot with little sour cream on side if desired.
