Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipe
Ingredients
| Milk | 6 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 3 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, cut up | ||
| Cinnamon stick | 6 Inch | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Eggs | 2 , beaten | |
| Vanilla | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
In 2 1/2-quart casserole, combine milk, sugar, chocolate, stick cinnamon, and salt.
Cook at HIGH for 12 minutes, stirring 3 times, till chocolate melts and milk is very hot.
Gradually stir 1 cup of the hot mixture into eggs; return to casserole.
Cook at MEDIUM (5) for 3 minutes.
Remove cinnamon sticks.
Add vanilla.
Beat with rotary beater or molinillo till very frothy.
Pour into mugs; garnish with additional cinnamon sticks.
