MEETHI TIKIYA,or KHAJOORAIN ( THEKUA). Recipe
It prepare in Karachi and all over Pakista spl at the occaision of muslim festival" RAJJAB" named as MEETHI TIKYEN.
It prepare in Bihar( INDIA) spl at the hindu festival Chhat named as THEKUA.
In U.P & M.P. state known as Khajoorain.

Ingredients
(1) - White flour (Maida) 1/2 kg.
(2) - Sugar 400 gm ( grinded).
(3) - Ghee 5-6 tbsp.
(4) - Crushed coconut 8-9 tbsp.
(5) - Saunf 2 tbsp.
(6) - Chopped & mix dry fruits 1/2 cur ( Almonds, Pistachio, Cashewnuts, Raisines,walnuts etc).
(7) - Oil or Ghee 1 cup for frying.
Directions
All ingredients mix in a bowl with 5-6 tbsp. Ghee.
Add little water in it ,prepare a hard dough with it.
Divided the dough in five or six equal portions.
Prepare 1/2 inch thick bread from every portion.
Cut in to the shape of cookies by cookies cutter.
Fry it medium on flame in preheated oil.
The dish is ready to serve.

I love it, the picture makes me want to eat them right away. In Karachi, on the 22nd of Rajab, people invite their neighbors to their house early in the morning & serve these delicious Meethi Tikiyan with Kheer & other yummy stuff. As a kid I loved going from house to house for these treats. In USA, none/very few people practice this religiuos tradition. Thank you for the recipe.
