Meatza Pizzas Recipe
Meatza pizzas are beef and bacon pizzas prepared with added mushrooms. Flavored with oodles of tomato sauce and herbed with oregano, the meatza pizzas are made with a patty base. Broiled to prepare rather than baking, they are cheesy and filling.
Ingredients
2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 eggs
4 teaspoons Beef-Flavor Instant Bouillon
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon oregano leaves
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Toppings:
Sliced mushrooms
Chopped green pepper
Sliced pepperoni
Cooked crumbled bacon
Shredded Mozzarella cheese
Directions
In large bowl, combine meat, onion, crumbs, eggs, bouillon and garlic powder; mix well.
Shape into 8 or 10 patties (about 3 1/2 inches each), flattening centers and forming a 1/2-inch rim around edges.
Arrange on broiler pan rack; broil 6 inches from heat 5 to 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, stir together tomato paste, oregano and sugar.
Spread equal portions in center of each patty.
Top with your favorite toppings and cheese.
Broil 1 to 2 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
Serve immediately or cool completely, wrap tightly and freeze, lb serve, thaw and reheat in 300° oven 15 to 20 minutes.
Refrigerate leftovers.
