Ingredients

 
1 1/2 lb (750 g) lean ground pork
 
1 onion, chopped and cooked
 
1/4 tsp (1 ml) chili powder
 
1 tsp (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
 
1 egg
 
2 tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil
 
1 1/2 cups (375 ml) chicken stock, heated
 
1 tbsp (15 ml) soya sauce
 
1 tbsp (15 ml) cornstarch
 
3 tbsp (45 ml) cold water
 
2 garlic cloves, smashed and chopped
 
2 lb (900 g) spinach, cooked and chopped
 
Salt and pepper

Directions

In mixer blend together pork, onion, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, egg, salt and pepper.
When mixture is smooth, shape into small meatballs.
Heat half of oil in large frying pan.
Add meatballs and cook 3 to 4 minutes on all sides; season generously.
Using small spoon remove most of fat from pan and discard.
Add chicken stock and soya sauce to meatballs.
Cover and cook 6 minutes over low heat.
Mix cornstarch with water; stir into meatball mixture and continue cooking 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat remaining oil in second frying pan.
When hot, cook garlic and spinach 3 minutes over medium heat; season well.
