Ingredients

 
1 egg
 
1 teaspoon soy sauce
 
Freshly ground black pepper
 
1/2 teaspoon thyme
 
1 tablespoon oil
 
1 pound ground, lean chuck steak
 
1/4 cup fine fresh bread crumbs
 
1/2 small onion, finely chopped
 
1 tablespoon meat sauce such as A1
 
1/4 cup milk

Directions

Place all ingredients except the oil in a bowl and stir lightly with a fork until just combined.
Do not overmix or the meatballs will become heavy.
Form the mixture into 1inch balls.
Heat a ceramic plate on the highest setting for 4 minutes.
Add the oil.
Cook 10 meatballs at a time for 1 minute on each side.
Rotate the dish one quarter of a turn after the first minute.
