Mom'S Meatball Soup Recipe

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 quarts water
1 can (16 ounces) tomatoes
3 potatoes, cubed
2 carrots, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
3 sprigs fresh parsley, minced, or 2 tablespoons dried
1/2 cup uncooked barley
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed thyme or basil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 beef bouillon cube
Directions
1. Shape beef into tiny meatballs. Brown meatballs and onion in a large saucepan, or place in a shallow pan and brown in a 400°F oven. Drain off excess fat.
2. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to boiling, simmer 1 1/2 hours, or until vegetables are tender.
