 Soup bone1 Large, split
 Water3 Quart
 Salt2 Teaspoon
 Black pepper1⁄4 Teaspoon

 Shredded cabbage3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
 Tomatoes2 Large, chopped
 Marjoram1⁄2 Teaspoon

 Pea pods12 (Tender)
 Canned whole kernel corn1 Pound
 Potatoes3 , sliced
 Vinegar2 Tablespoon

Directions

Put beef and beef bone in a deep kettle; add water and salt; bring to a boil.
Skim, add pepper, peppercorns, bay leaf, and onions.
Cover.
Reduce heat, simmer for 2 1/2 hours; add vegetables, marjoram and vinegar.
Simmer for 30 to 40 minutes longer.
Remove meat and bone from soup, cut up meat.
Return to soup
