Meat Sauce For Spaghetti Recipe
Ingredients
| Onions | 2 , chopped | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Cooking oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Ground beef | 1/2 pound | |
| Ground pork | 1/2 pound | |
| Tomatoes | 4 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Tomato puree | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Parsley | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Green pepper | 1 , chopped | |
| Basil leaves | 2 , dried | |
| 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind | ||
| Dried thyme | 1/2 Teaspoon, crumbled | |
| Salt | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Red pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon, crushed | |
Directions
In large saucepan saute onions and garlic in hot oil until golden.
Add beef and pork and cook until lightly browned but still red inside, stirring to break up meat.
Add tomatoes and puree; bring to boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Makes enough sauce for 1 pound spaghetti, cooked, or for 8 servings.
