Meat Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
4 tablespoons butter
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1 pound ground beef
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 small onions, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
1 cup water
1/2 pound phyllo pastry sheets
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon salt
Melted butter
Directions
Melt the 4 tablespoons of butter in a heavy frying pan.
Add meat, onions, and garlic, and brown well, stirring constantly, until onion is slightly cooked and meat is well browned.
Add 1/4 cup of the water so that the meat will not stick to the pan.
Add the spices and adjust seasonings if desired.
Add the tomato sauce and remaining water and stir until mixture begins to boil.
Cover pan and simmer about 1/2 hour or until meat is thoroughly cooked.
Stir occasionally.
Allow to cool slightly, then drain meat mixture to eliminate excess liquid.
Take a portion of a sheet of phyllo pastry, about 6 inches long and 4 inches wide, and brush with melted butter.
Place 1 teaspoon of the mixture at end of pastry, fold up once, and then turn in sides and roll.
Brush with butter on all sides and place on a cooky sheet.
Bake in a hot 450 degree oven for about 15 minutes until lightly browned.
Allow to cool slightly.
