Meat & Herbs Loaf Recipe
Ingredients
| Ground beef chuck - 1 lb. | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
| Quick-cooking rolled oats - 1/4 cup | ||
| Onion | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Tomato sauce - 1 (8-oz.) can | ||
| Dried leaf thyme - 1/4 teaspoon | ||
| Dried leaf marjoram - 1/4 teaspoon | ||
| Celery salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Brown sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Worcestershire sauce | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Prepared mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
MAKING
1 In a medium bowl, thoroughly combine meat, egg, oats, onion, 1/2 of tomato sauce, thyme, marjoram and celery salt.
2 Press meat mixture into a loaf in a 9" x 5" loaf dish.
3 Shape loaf so meat does not touch sides of dish.
4 Cover with waxed paper.
5 Microwave at 100% (HIGH) for 5 minutes. Pour off juices.
6 Stir brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard into remaining tomato sauce.
7 Spoon tomato glaze over loaf, coating entire top and sides.
8 Give dish a half turn and cover with waxed paper.
9 Microwave at 30% (MEDIUM LOW) for 17 to 20 minutes or until a microwave meat thermometer inserted in center of loaf registers 170 degrees farenheit (75 C) or until meat in center is only slightly pink.
10 Cover with foil; let stand for 5 minutes.
11 Temperature will rise about 10 degrees farenheit (5 C) during standing time.

12 Slice and serve.
