Meat Balls In Sour Cream Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 egg, slightly beaten | ||
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Tablespoon | |
| 1 C. fine dry bread crumbs | ||
| Onion | 1 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Lean ground beef | 1/2 Pound | |
| 2 T. bacon drippings | ||
| Onion | 1 Medium, chopped | |
| Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce | ||
| 1 C. commercial sour cream | ||
| Ripe olives | 1 Cup (16 tbs), coarsely chopped | |
Directions
Step 1: Beat egg with milk, salt, pepper, crumbs and grated onion.
Allow to stand a few minutes.
Add ground beef; mix lightly with a fork and shape into 2" balls.
Cover with waxed paper and store in refrigerator until chafing time.
Step 2: Heat drippings in blazer pan.
Fry meat balls until uniformly browned.
Remove from pan.
Saute onion for 5 minutes.
Stir in flour until blended.
Add tomato sauce and meat balls.
Place over hot water, cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Add sour cream and mix gently.
Scatter olives and heat through.
Serves 6 to 8.
