Meat Balls Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
4 slices day-old bread, crusts removed
1/2 cup milk
6 tablespoons butter
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Dash of nutmeg
1/2 cup fine dry breadcrumbs
1/2 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon tomato paste
Directions
Combine the meats.
Soak the bread in the milk.
Heat 2 tablespoons butter and saute the onion for 2 minutes.
Squeeze the bread slices as dry as possible and crumble.
Combine meat, bread, salt, pepper, nutmeg and onion and knead together.
Form into 8 balls.
Coat with bread crumbs.
Heat the remaining butter and saute the meat balls until brown on all sides.
Pour out the butter, add the broth and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove meat balls from the pan.
