Onion-1 large, fine slices
 
Ghee-1/2 cup
 
Green peas-1/2 pound
 
Green chilies-2 small, chopped
 
Tomatoes-4 medium, quartered
 
Button onions-1 pound, halved
 
Green ginger -2 teaspoons, sliced
 
Plain yogurt-2/3 cup
 
Warm water -1 1/4 cups
 
Salt- to taste
 
Whole spices:
 
Cloves-2
 
Bay leaves-2
 
Brown cardamom-1
 
Black peppercorns-6
 
Black cumin seeds-1/2 teaspoon
 
Cinnamon -2 (1-inch) sticks
 
Toppings:
 
Garam masala-1 tablespoon
 
Green coriander-3 tablespoons, chopped
 
Capsicum-1, thin slices

Directions

GETTING READY
1)Preheat oven for 10 minutes.

MAKING
2)In a pan, heat ghee and fry sliced onion until golden. Drain and keep aside.
3)Decrease the heat and add all whole spices, fry them and then add next 5 ingredients and sauté.
4)Add yogurt, water and salt and let it cook on low heat for about 15 minutes.
5)Pour the mixture into casserole and top with garam masala, coriander and capsicum.
6)Cover it and cook in preheated oven for 10 minutes.

SERVING
7)Serve the dish with chapatti hot.
