Lentil Soup With Wine Recipe
Masur Lentil Soup With Wine is a brilliant combo of eastern and western recipes. I remember how easy it was to prepare simple masur lentil when I was just learning to cook. But in it's traditional form, Masur Lentil Soup With Wine has lentil, bacon, mixed vegetables and ofcourse beef consomme. Ingredients
| 1/4 cup minced bacon or salt pork | ||
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), minced | |
| Carrot | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), minced | |
| Celery | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Parsley | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Summer savory | 1 Teaspoon, chopped | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Black pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Red lentils | 1 Cup (16 tbs), dried | |
| 1-1/2 cups Beef Consomme | ||
| Beef Stock | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Tomato juice | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Dry red wine | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon slices | ||
| Minced fresh chives | ||
Directions
Saute bacon, vegetables, garlic, herbs and seasonings until bacon is browned.
Add lentils, consomme and stock.
Cover, bring to boil, lower heat and simmer 30 minutes or until lentils are soft.
Puree, reheat with tomato juice and lemon juice and adjust seasonings.
Just before serving, add wine.
Garnish with lemon slices and chives.
