Directions

Wash and soak masoor dal for 4 hours. Wash and soak rice for 30 mts.
Heat up a tsp oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, add chopped garlic and saute till garlic gets nice golden color.
Add hing, turmeric powder, tomatoes and mix well.
Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, mix well, now add soaked rice and dal, mix well.
Add water, salt to taste, cover and pressure cook until 2 whistles.
Serve with some salad, raita!
