Rich Mashed Turnip Recipe

Water
 
2 1/2 pounds turnips, peeled and diced
 
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
 
2 teaspoons salt
 
1 teaspoon sugar
 
1/4 teaspoon pepper
 
Chopped parsley for garnish

Directions

1. In 4-quart saucepan over high heat, in 1 inch boiling water, heat turnips to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 15 minutes or until tender. Drain.
2. Mash turnips. Add butter or margarine, salt, sugar, and pepper; stir until well mixed. Garnished with chopped parsley.
