Maryland Deviled Imperial Crab Recipe
Maryland Deviled Imperial Crab is a creamy crab recipe. Cooked with cream sauce and brandied, the maryland deviled imperial crab is spiced with mustard. Baked in the oven and broiled for a browned top, this is a great seafood recipe.
Ingredients
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 green pepper, chopped fine | ||
| 2 tablespoons good brandy | ||
| Cream sauce | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Onion | 1 Small, minced | |
| Prepared mustard | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 2 tablespoons fine bread crumbs | ||
| Dry mustard | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Crab meat | 1 pound | |
Directions
Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a saucepan, add the green pepper and onion, and cook over a low heat, stirring often, for 10 minutes.
Stir in the 2 mustards, salt, brandy, Cream Sauce, and 1 tablespoon of the bread crumbs.
Then add the crab meat.
Heat only for a few minutes, stirring gently and taking care not to break up the crab flakes.
Spoon into 6 individual baking shells or into a small baking dish that can go to the table.
Sprinkle on remaining bread crumbs and dot with remaining butter.
Bake in a preheated 400° oven (shells will take about 10 minutes, the baking dish about 25 minutes).
Slide under the broiler for a few minutes to brown the tops.
