Marmalade Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 3 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Soda | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Orange marmalade | 1 1 pound | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Orange juice | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup salad oil or melted shortening | ||
| California walnuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), broken | |
Directions
Sift together dry ingredients.
Reserve 1/4 cup of the marmalade.
Combine remaining 1 1/4 cups marmalade, the egg, orange juice, and salad oil; add to flour mixture, stirring till moistened.
Stir in nuts.
Turn into greased 9 1/2 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) about 1 hour or till done.
Remove bread from pan and place on baking sheet; spread top with reserved marmalade and return to oven about 1 minute or till glazed.
Cool on rack.
