Ingredients

 3 Bartlett pears, peeled
 Salad oil1 Cup (16 tbs)
 White wine vinegar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Parsley2 Tablespoon, chopped
 Pimento4 Teaspoon, chopped
 Basil1/2 Teaspoon
 Pitted dates6
 1/4 c. tangy cheese spread
 Lettuce

Directions

Halve pears; core.
Combine oil, vinegar, salt, parsley, pimento and basil in jar.
Cover; shake well.
Place pear halves, cut side down, in shallow bowl; pour oil dressing over pears.
Chill, covered, for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Stuff dates with cheese spread.
Arrange pears, cut side up, on lettuce-lined serving plate; garnish with dates.
Spoon remaining dressing over pears.
