Anchovy Marinara Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Olive oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), chopped | |
| 3 flat anchovy fillets, chopped | ||
| Tomato Paste | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 2 30-ounce cans Italian whole tomatoes in puree | ||
| Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Parsley | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Dried oregano | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
1. In a nonreactive large saucepan, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute, being very careful not to burn. Stir in anchovy until dissolved, 1 to 2 minutes.
2. Add tomato paste and stir to heat. Stir in tomatoes with puree, water, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer uncovered 30 minutes.
