Marinara Sauce Using Red Wine Vinegar Recipe
Ingredients
| Olive oil | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Garlic | 6 Clove (5gm) | |
| Onions | 3 | |
| Carrot | 1 | |
| Red wine vinegar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon Juice or Red Wine - 1/4 cup | ||
| Canned tomatoes | 2 | |
| Tomatoes | 4 Pound, chopped | |
| Basil - 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons | ||
| Thyme | 1 Tablespoon, dried | |
| Oregano | 1 Tablespoon, dried | |
| Sugar | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Dried red pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground pepper | 1 To taste | |
Directions
MAKING
1) In a large pot, heat some oil
2) Tip in the garlic, onions, carrot and cook till soft
3) Add the vinegar and lemon juice or wine and bring to a gentle simmer
4) Reduce the flame till the liquid is almost evaporated
5) Chop the canned tomatoes
6) Add the tomatoes with their liquid and 1 tablespoons of the basil, 1/2 the thyme and a teaspoon of oregano
7) Simmer partly with the lid on the pot and cook till slightly thickened
8) Simmer for 45 minutes
9) Add the rest of the herbs to taste
10) Check for seasoning add to the sugar, salt and chopped pepper to taste
SERVING
11) Serve this sauce along with ravioli
