 Pecans and walnuts2/3 Cup (16 tbs), chopped (Chocolate Layer:)
 Cream cheese1 (Vanilla Layer:)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350° F.
Begin chocolate layer: Melt chocolate with butter over lowest heat, stirring to mix; cool to room temperature.
Meanwhile, prepare vanilla layer: Beat cheese and butter until fluffy, gradually add sugar, creaming until fluffy.
Beat in egg, flour, and vanilla; set aside while you finish chocolate layer.
Beat 2 eggs until pale in color, add sugar slowly, and beat until mixture is quite thick.
Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt, then cooled chocolate mixture, vanilla, and nuts.
Spread half the chocolate layer in a greased 9"x9"x2" baking pan, top with vanilla layer, then remaining chocolate layer.
Zigzag a knife through batter to create marbled effect.
Bake 35-40 minutes until brownies pull from sides of pan.
Cool upright in pan on a wire rack, then cut in large squares.
