Maple Cream Pie Recipe
Ingredients
2 tablespoons soft butter or margarine
2 egg yolks
1 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup commercial sour cream
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon vinegar
I teaspoon vanilla
1 unbaked 8-inch pie shell
2 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons sugar
Directions
Beat the first 7 ingredients together.
Pour into pie shell, and bake at 425°F. 20 minutes.
Lower heat to 325 °F., and cook 30 minutes more or until set (metal skewer should come out clean).
Beat egg whites, salt and sugar until very stiff, and swirl over pie.
Bake at 350 °F. 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Serve at room temperature.
